Thinking through feedback

The feedback that was the most helpful was the one that Sabrina wrote. Even though she liked my story she gave some good advice about I shoul have slowed down and took my time when I was writing this story. She also said that I could’ve ended my story a little better and correctly. The things that I will change in my rough draft are my spelling mistakes but not my ending. I won’t change my ending becuase I like that way that it is. I don’t think that my ending needs to be changed becuase it was a good ending in my perspective. She also said that I could’ve put a lot more into it. I will also check my grammar and spelling becuase I know that I had a lot of those. I will also change a few events that happened a little bit just to make it more understanding. I know that maybe my theme is a little unclear so I need to make sure that my readers understand what I am trying to teach them. Hopefully my final draft will be more understandable and clear so that the readers can comprehed what’s going on in my story. Also I need to make sru that my title goes with my story. I am not sure just yet if I want to change it becuase no one has said I need to change it or asked me about it. Also I have to make sure that hte dialouge in my strory is understandable too. I know sometimes I get thrown off track with my dialogue and readears get a little confused so I have to make sure I do that in final draft also. It seems like I have a lot to do and a lot of changes to make to my final draft in order to have a good paper.

Coming into Creative Writing I wasn’t sure what to expect. As the class went on, we did a lot of different things. It was a great learning process for me as a writer. The class made me stronger as a wirter and helped me develop a broader view to the different types of writing. One of my favorite assingments was the short story we had to write that had to be in all dialouge. I thought it was going to be really hard but it wasn’t. It taught me how tell a story in only a conversation and to use my imagination becuase we had to make our conversation between two people that talked differently. It was a challenge but I did it. I also learned how to compose and develope a story. I’ve never written so many shorty stories in my life until I started taking Creative Writing. Before taking Creative Writing I didn’t really know how write a story. Our teacher taught us how to develope a beginning, middle, and an end. The types and different worksheets that he gave us to make our story really helped also. Creative Writing was a long hard journey but I made it to my destination of becoming a better writer.

Proposal for my final project

For my final project I am going to write a short story. My story will be about based on depression. I choose this topic because it’s a very serious right now in teens. I haven’t had a problem with this but I have had friends that have experienced this. The things I saw them go through were horrifying because I had saw a side that was never sen before. I think that someone should talk about it and what depression does to a person. I also wanted to do this topic becuase I want to be able to inform people of what goes on in some teens life. It doesn’t just effect the person that is going thogur depression, but it also effects the people around them. This issue has to be taken seriously because if it’s not then the issue can become a lot bigger than whait really is. Depression makes people act differently than the way they usually act. They revolve into a whole new person. The people around aren’t always sure how to act around them becuase they don’t what to make the mistake of saying the wrong thing and making them worse than they already are. With this topic I plan to tell the life a depressed teenager. In the story it will show how serious depression really is. Sometimes it makes people think suicidal and commit suicide. If a person commits suicide, thier friends and families sometimes blames themselves. I’m not sure what really leds some people up to depression but I do friends that can tell me and inform me in order to make my story the best. I don’t want to just write a story on depression and have no clue of what it is. I want my story to be informative and real so that it touches my reader.

My Power Word

My power word is humility. Humility means to be modest and humble. That is a word that describes me very well. To me it’s a very powerful word because it takes a lot of work to be a humble person. It’s very easy for anyone to want to brag about their accomplishments and unique things that we have done. When someone does something that makes them proud, they want to brag a little bit or a lot so that people could think highly of them. I know from experience how it is to do something that makes you happy after you’ve put a lot of work in it. Sometimes I have to just hold my emotions inside becuase I don’t like bragging and boasting about myself. To me, for me to be the only one that knows how well I did is good enough for me. I don’t like being the center of attention all the time. The only people I like to share with is my parents and siblings. My school likes to have honor assemblies that acknowledges the people when they do well in school academically. When they call your name it’s becasue you’ve been on honer roll. I know that when I get called, I hate it becuase all eyes are on me. I really like this word also becuase of the way that it rolls off my tounge and the work it takes to have humility.

“If I could write a best-seller”

If I could write a best - seller I would write a non-fiction book. My book would be about the different issues and problems that teens face everyday. From experience and hearing what my friends have to go through or had went through are things that people should know about. Being able to inform but also tell a story can help so many people. After reading this book you could be able to help someone who is going through the same problem. I wouldn’t base my book on just one problem expand on the most common issues that teen face and try to elaborate on them as much as I can. I want my book to be on that makes everyone want to read it and never want to put it down. My book would be a best-seller because not only does it make people want to write it, but it relates to many people so that maybe they can deal with some of their own personal problems that have in the present and some that they have had in the past. My book will be talked about on all of the mourning talk shows. It will be requested to read by other authors, read in different schools and talked about for a long time.

“My Fairy Tale… a happy ending?”

Writing this fairy tale was the first short story that I have ever wirtten. It was a good experience for me. even though it was a good experience, it was sometimes difficult for me. What made it difficult was thinking of what I wanted to write about and describing my monster. Describing my monster was hard because I couldn’t think of the characteristics that made him scary or some that would make sense to be put in a fairy tale.

Another thing that was hard for me was making my fairy tale an actual fairy tale. Everything I was thinking about putting in my story was too realistic to be put in fairy tale. I had to dig deep to use my imagination and be creative enough to have a story that seemed like a traditional fairy tale

Somethings that I did like was ending my story because I was able to get even with someone I didn’t like. I also liked writing. I had fun creating the monster and making myself the heroe. The whole process of writing the story has made me a better writer and had a happy ending.

“My Fairy Tale”

Writting this fairy has been very difficult. It’s difficult becasue it’s not interesting to me. I have many different ideas in my head but hte problem is getting them on paper the way i want to. That’s another thing that is hard for me. I kow exactly how I want it to go but i can’t organize it in the right way so that i makes sense and can be called a story.

If I had to write a non-fiction story it wold be a lot easier for me to do. It would be easier becasue it’s something i can relate to and something that i go through everyday. Creating a fairy tale makes me use my imagination and dig deep for creativity to make it a good enough story to read. Creativity is something that I think is reaquried in order to have a great story.

After Two Weeks My Writing…

After two weeks my writing has improved a little. I can notice the change and it’s also a good change. The chang i’ve noticed is that I am able to express myself more and I can express myself in a more creative way. That’s a good change because now I don’t get “writer’s block” as much. I can just let the ideas in my head just flow right on to the paper the way I want it to.

Am I a Writer?

The definition of a writer can very depending on what people think it is. To me a writer is someone that loves to do it and has a passion for it and they are still good at it. I do not consider myself a writer because evn though I love writting, I don’t have a passion for it. Writting is more of a hobby to me. I write pelnty of times during school, but on my on my own I write about three or four times a week. Types of things that I write are poems and I just started working on a play. I don’t really have a goal for writting becuase I don’t see myself doing it forever. In order for me to be inspired to write, I have to be in the mood for it. That ‘s why I don’t consider myself a writer.
